Part-time Events and Outreach Coordinator

East Aurora Cooperative Market, Inc.

 

Position Summary:

The Events and Outreach Coordinator for the East Aurora Cooperative Market, Inc. is responsible for identifying, planning for and ensuring the adequate staffing of worthwhile and mission-relevant community events in both primary and secondary trade areas (East Aurora, Orchard Park, Elma, Strykersville, Marilla, Wales, Arcade, etc.). The coordinator will also manage the regular dissemination of information about the co-op in the outlying areas in an effort to build awareness and enhance member-ownership.

Specifically, the Events and Outreach Coordinator will:

  • Research, identify and recommend community events throughout the EACM’s trade area that would be suitable for co-op participation.
  • Coordinate, train and schedule volunteers to cover community events. Manage event and volunteer calendars.
  • Oversee outreach volunteers in their efforts to distribute co-op brochures and member applications throughout the trade area. Create plan for ensuring regular coverage of these areas, and ensure adequate supply of materials is available at all times.
  • Communicate in a timely and effective manner with the membership and marketing committee on any aspects of an event that requires their skills and promotion.
  • Communicate regularly with the project manager and provide a written report monthly on the status of the events and outreach activities for inclusion in board of directors meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Member-owner of the co-op is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of cooperative business models and the East Aurora Cooperative Market are essential.
  • Previous event planning experience
  • Successful experience working with and motivating volunteers
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

This is a contract position for an average of 10 hours per week (subject to change) at $12 per hour. Interviews will begin August 13. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume (mail or email) to:
